Day
1, Sept 10 ~ Sat: Depart Denver Via Minneapolis on Overnight
Transatlantic Flight
Requested flight - United flight 308 Leaving Denver at 12:30pm traveling
to Minneapolis/St. Paul.
Connecting to Icelandic Airlines flight 356 leaving Minneapolis 7:20pm
and arriving at Reykjavik Iceland at 6:20am on September 11th, 2005.
Day 2, Sept 11 ~ Sun: ARRIVE REYKJAVIK, Capital City of Iceland.
Upon arrival and customs, we board our deluxe motor coach and transfer
from the airport to Reykjavik city centre. Hotel requested: Radisson SAS
Saga.
Day 3, Sep 12 ~ Mon: REYKJAVIK
Hotel arrangements by Iceland Air.
Day 4, Sept 13 ~ Tues: REYKJAVIK - COPENHAGEN, DENMARK.
This morning transfers are provided to the airport. On arrival at the
Copenhagen Airport, meet your Cosmos tour director and TRANSFER to your
hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore the Danish capital. Tonight
join your tour director and traveler companions for a welcome dinner at
your hotel. (D)
Day 5, Sept 14 ~ Wed: COPENHAGEN - AALBORG AREA
After breakfast join the included ORIENTATION TOUR of Copenhagen before
starting the journey northward. Enjoy the drive across the new Storebaelforbindelsen
Bridge, which will connect you to the fairy-tale island of Funen. Via
Odense, Hans Christian Andersen's home, and the Little Belt waterway,
head for tidy Aalborg on the rural Jutland peninsula and overnight in

Day 6, Sept 15 ~ Thurs: AALBORG AREA - OSLO, NORWAY
A pleasant two-hour FERRY RIDE from Frederikshavn across the strategic
Kattegat to Gothenburg, Sweden's thriving second-largest city and one
of Europe's major seaports. From here follow the inland route and cross
into Norway. Evening arrival in Oslo. (BB)
Day 7, Sept 16 ~ Fri: OSLO - AFTERNOON TO TELEMARK AREA
Vistas of Akershus Castle, the 4th-century fortress guarding the harbor,
are a highlight on the included MORNING TOUR which features the soaring
City Hall, National Theater, Parliament, Royal Palace, Broadcasting House,
and Gustav Vigeland's stark sculptures of people and animals in Frogner
Park. In the afternoon drive through the Telemark region to Bolkesjo.

Day 8, Sept 17 ~ Sat: TELEMARK AREA - BERGEN
Take the scenic route this morning for a visit to Vemork, where a commando
unit of British and Norwegians known as the Heroes of Telemark blew up
the heavy water plant. Visit the VEMORK MUSEUM, then proceed through the
Telemark region with its lakes, winding valleys, and rugged gorges backed
by towering mountains. En route a picture stop at the 500-foot Latefoss
Waterfall, then by FERRY across the Hardangerfjord from Utne to Kvanndal.
Continue to Bergen, Norway's picture-perfect Hanseatic seaport. (BB)
Day 9, Sept 18 ~ Sun: BERGEN
Built on seven hills with the fjords on one side and the 1,000-foot Floyen
on the other, Bergen was the home of the composer Grieg. The optional
sightseeing excursion takes in the main sights, including St. Mary's Church,
one of the oldest in Norway, and also a panoramic view of the city from
one of the surrounding hills. Tonight an optional folklore evening. (BB)
Day 10, Sept 19 ~ Mon: BERGEN - SOGNEFJORD CRUISE - FAGERNES
More spectacular scenery as you drive towards the Sognefjord where you
embark for a breathtaking CRUISE on one of Norway's most mighty fjords.
Today may well be the highlight of your journey. Overnight in Fagernes.

Day 11, Sept 20 ~ Tues: FAGERNES - KARLSTAD, SWEDEN
First to Lillehammer of Olympic fame. See the highlights of this famous
winter sports resort on the included VISIT. Then great scenery: green
valleys, shimmering lakes, and towering mountains. Drive towards Gjovik
and, after a stop, motor along beautiful Lake Mjosa and continue through
Värmland's unspoiled wilderness of forest and lakes to Karlstad.

Day 12, Sept 21 ~ Wed: KARLSTAD - STOCKHOLM
Time to savor the leisurely pace of small-town life in pretty Karlstad
and to browse among its enticing shops. You are in the heart of the Värmland,
and its provincial capital Karlstad is one of Sweden's loveliest lakeside
towns. Then east towards Stockholm via Alfred Nobel's Bofors, the ancient
garrison town of örebro, and modern Eskilstuna, world famous for
its stainless steel. Just before reaching Stockholm stop in Mariefred
to view the Castle of Gripsholm. The Swedish capital's beauty is due to
its unique setting on 14 islands between Lake Mälar and the Baltic
(moved farewell dinner to day 15). (BB)
DAY 13, Sept 22 ~ Thurs: STOCKHOLM
This is perhaps the most beautiful of the Scandinavian capitals, because
the crystalline waters which flow through its intersecting canals gives
a luminous appearance to palaces, castles, and parks. Your included CITY
SIGHTSEEING takes in all the highlights. This afternoon, an interesting
optional excursion is available to the Vasa Museum. On August 10, 1628,
the pride of the Swedish fleet, "The Warship Vasa" sank in Stockholm's
harbor on her maiden voyage. She was rediscovered in 1956 after 333 years
and then raised in 1961. The Vasa is the world's oldest identified and
fully preserved ship and one of the leading sights in the world. The excursion
includes a tour of the Museum with local expert, a film about the salvaging
of the Vasa and time to explore on your own. Ask your tour director for

DAY 14, Sept 23 ~ Fri: STOCKHOLM
A free day to enjoy Stockholm. This evening enjoy a farewell dinner the
last night that both the Silver and Gold members are together. (BB, D)
DAY 15, Sept 24 ~ Sat: TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT FOR YOUR DEPARTURE FLIGHT

DAY 15, Sept 24 ~ Sat: STOCKHOLM - OVERNIGHT FERRY (IN 2-BERTH
CABINS
WITH PRIVATE FACILITIES) TO HELSINKI, FINLAND
Today a free day in Stockhom. In the early evening embark on the SILJA
LINE FERRY (IN 2-BERTH CABINS WITH PRIVATE FACILITIES) to Helsinki. On
board you can enjoy music, dancing and shopping. (BB)
Day 16, Sept 25 ~ Sun: HELSINKI
After breakfast on board, disembark for your CITY SIGHTSEEING TOUR with
a local guide. Highlights will include the City Hall and Parliament House,
the Presidential Palace, the monumental railway station and the great
Lutheran Cathedral. An afternoon at leisure for last minute shopping or
individual exploring.

Day 17, Sept 26 ~ Mon: HELSINKI - VYBORG - ST. PETERSBURG, RUSSIA
East along the coastline and on to the Russian border. After completing
frontier formalities, stop in the city of Vyborg at midday. Travel between
Lake Ladoga and the Gulf of Finland. Realize the huge expanse of Russia
as you approach St. Petersburg, considered by most travelers to be Russia's
most fascinating city. (BB,D)
Day 18, Sept 27 ~ Tues: ST. PETERSBURG
St. Petersburg was created in 1703 by the iron will of Peter the Great.
He made it the capital of all Russia and ensured that it should rival
any other European capital in splendor, beauty, and distinction. Palaces,
parks, monuments, squares, wide boulevards, and 600 bridges delight visitors
with their symmetrical beauty, and the River Neva adds to the city's charm.
During World War II the city was besieged for 900 days and much of it
was destroyed, along with hundreds of thousands of its inhabitants. This
morning's included SIGHTSEEING EXCURSION will acquaint you with the best
of the city's highlights.
The afternoon is at leisure for shopping or independent sightseeing. (BB)
Day 19, Sept 28 ~ Wed: ST. PETERSBURG
This morning, look forward to a highlight visit with a local guide to
the Winter Palace complex. Formerly the residence of the czars, it is
now the home of the world famous HERMITAGE MUSEUM (closed Mondays). Among
the exhibits are works by Rembrandt, Leonardo da Vinci, and the French
impressionists. In the afternoon don't miss out on the included visit
to PETERHOF PALACE and its GARDENS. This historic building was almost
totally destroyed during World War II and was most lovingly and brilliantly
restored to its original splendor just a few years ago. The royal estate
was founded by Peter the Great and is known for its palaces and beautiful

Day 20, Sept 29 ~ Thurs: ST. PETERSBURG - HELSINKI
Today travel back to Helsinki. Enjoy a Farewell Dinner at your hotel.
