Itinerary:Day 1, October 11: Arrive 2:45 PM Denver International Airport, DIA, for group check-in at United Airlines. Depart Denver to Miami. Board your overnight flight to begin your tour of discovering South America. Day 2, October 12: Arrive Santiago, Chile, 7:55 AM on United Airlines. After arriving in Santiago de Chile, you will enjoy a panoramic tour of the city, including the HIPPODROME, O'HIGGINS PARK, and the popular CERRO SAN CRISTOBAL, home to the STATUE OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION. Hotel: Intercontinental, two nights. Day 3, October 13: Santiago Today is a day of leisure to relax or take an optional tour of the area. This evening, enjoy dinner and a traditional FOLKLORE SHOW. Meals included B, D Day 4, October 14: Santiago - Puerto Montt - Puerto Varas (the Lake District) Your vacation continues in the extraordinary LAKE DISTRICT. Fly south to the coastal town of PUERTO MONTT and visit charming ANGELMO FISHING VILLAGE. Next, transfer to the picturesque resort of PUERTO VARAS, located on the shores of LAKE LLANQUIHUE. Meals included B, D, Hotel: Colons del Sur, one night. Day 5, October 15: Puerto Varas - Peulla Today you begin the CROSSING OF THE MAJESTIC ANDES. Behold the mammoth OSORNO VOLCANO in the distance as you travel through the beautiful countryside. View the majestic and colorful PETROHUE FALLS before driving to the shores of the LAGO TODOS LOS SANTOS (The Lake of All Saints). Cruise across the lake to the rustic town of PEULLA, located at the foot of the mountains. Meals included B, D, Hotel: Puella, one night. Day 6, October 16: Peulla - Lake Crossing - Bariloche, Argentina Enjoy a leisurely drive through the forest and the lower hills of the Andes to arrive at the ARGENTINE BORDER. Board a launch for a short cruise across lovely LAGO FRIAS. Travel through the deep forest to PUERTO BLEST where you embark on a cruise across scenic LAKE NAHUEL HUAPI. Arriving in Puerto Panuelo, you drive to the Alpine village of SAN CARLOS DE BARILOCHE. Meals included B, Hotel: Edelweiss, two nights. Day 7, October 17: Bariloche The day is at leisure in Bariloche, renowned for its chocolate production. You may wish to take a leisurely walk to Central Square or embark on an optional tour of the area. Meals included B Day 8, October 18: Bariloche - Buenos Aires Today you fly to the exciting city of BUENOS AIRES. The "Paris of South America" is bursting with beautiful European architecture, lively boulevards and quaint sidewalk cafes. Enjoy a PORTENOS TOUR of the capital, viewing the lavish TEATRO COLON, the famous opera house; 9TH OF JULY AVENUE, one of the world's widest boulevards; RECOLETA CEMETERY, where the TOMB OF EVA PERON is located; and the President's residence, the CASA ROSADA. Savor a typical Argentine steak dinner before enjoying a TANGO SHOW, which originated in Buenos Aires. Meals included B, D, Hotel: Claridge, two nights. Day 9, October 19: Buenos Aires Drive through the famous PAMPAS to a typical ARGENTINE ESTANCIA (ranch) to see the GAUCHOS demonstrate their horsemanship, and perform amazing feats of skill. Next, enjoy a typical ARGENTINE ASADO (lunch), barbecued over an open fire. Typical gaucho dance and music will follow. Meals included B, L Day 10, October 20: Buenos Aires - Iguassu Falls, Brazil Today you fly north to the natural wonder known as the IGUASSU FALLS, located on the border of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. Arrive on the Argentinean side and enjoy a tour of the park and behold the magnificent views of the Falls. Later, transfer to the Brazilian side to IGUASSU NATIONAL PARK. Meals included B, D Hotel: Las Cataratas, two nights. Day 11, October 21: Iguassu Falls Enjoy a leisurely-paced walking tour of the Brazilian side of Iguassu Falls. The remainder of your day is at leisure. You may wish to take advantage of the optional tours offered. Meals included B Day 12, October 22: Iguassu Falls - Rio de Janeiro Today you fly to the beautiful and vibrant city of RIO DE JANEIRO, the cultural capital of Brazil. Magnificent views, beautiful beaches, great cuisine and friendly people make Rio a fantastic vacation destination. Meals included B Day 13, October 23: Rio de Janeiro Enjoy a CARIOCA'S TOUR of Rio, including COPACABANA and IPANEMA BEACHES, FLAMENGO PARK and MARACANA SOCCER STADIUM. Next, ascend CORCOVADO to visit one of the world's most famous landmarks - the gigantic statue of CHRIST THE REDEEMER. Tonight, take a cable car to SUGARLOAF and enjoy a breathtaking view of the city. You cap off your evening at one of Rio's top restaurants for a typical "CHURRASCARIA" dinner of marinated and charcoal-roasted meats in true Brazilian-style. Transfer to Airport for United Airlines return flight, departs 10:00 PM - arrives Miami 4:45 AM on October 25th. Meals included B, D, Hotel: Sheraton Rio de Janera, two nights. Day 14, October 24: Rio de Janeiro - Overnight Flight. You will have leisure time before transferring to the airport for your return trip home.
